Slightly few books bought this week...I was on the verge of buying another one today when I studiously stepped away from temptation and ran from the book store! (not really, I walked calmly with me head down to ensure that no other interesting titles would job from the shelves and find their way into my waiting hands...)
I'm actually very excited because I am finally able to devoted myself freely to reading any and all books of my own choosing since essay are done and classes are officially over! yay (party party)
So, on the list of books I bought this week are:
Never a Gentleman, by Eileen Dreyer
Published April 1st 2011 by Forever
400 pages
The Summoning, by Kelley Armstrong
Published July 1st 2008 by HarperTeen
390 pages
Along for the Ride, by Sarah Dessen
Published June 11th, 2009 (paperback, April 5th 2011) by Speak
400 pages
Pleasure Unbound, by Larissa Ione
Published June 20th 2008 by Forever
389 pages
Passion Unleashed, by Larissa Ione
Published April 1st 2009 by Warner Forever
410 pages
I bought Eileen Dreyer's book the day it came out and devoured it over the weekend. The review is already up in a previous post. The Summoning was also purchased on the same day as Dreyer's book, although in a different city and at a different Chapters location...even while on a trip I can't seem to stay away!
Next up, when I came back to Montreal, I was at a bookstore with my friend who pointed out Sarah Dessen's new book - or tried to - the words barely left her mouth before I yelped (yes yelped...like a dog :s) and ran to yank a copy off the shelf. I have been devouring Dessen's books in the past few weeks and was eagerly anticipating Along for the Ride to come out in paperback. I though it wasn't coming out until the 26th of April, but lucky me it was on shelves on the 5th!
Following that, was a new series I discovered on Goodreads, a paranormal romance which came highly recommended. I'm a huge fan of Karen Marie Moning's Fever series as well as J.R. Ward's Black Daggar Brotherhood series and love a good paranormal. These are the first three in the Demonica series and so far I'm in love. I bought the first in the series and flew threw it in a day and then promptly hustled back to stores to buy the next two.
Those are my indulgences for the week...or at least until this weekend were I might find my way to purchasing a few more...

I haven't tried any Dessen books yet but I hear the greatest things about them! I think I'm going to pick up a couple this summer. I love summer reads and they seem perfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat set! I still need to read Sarah Dessen. I've heard good things about Larissa Ione.

Hey Alison, thanks for following,
ReplyDeleteand yea you should definitely check out Sarah Dessen. I just discovered her a few weeks back and couldn't believe how I'd never read her stuff before. She does amazing things with YA lit.
