Sweet Summer Reads

Sand, Sun, Swimming, & Sunscreen...

Admittedly I'm not usually a summer person. I don't live close enough to good beaches, I always seem to be too hot in the sun and get annoyed with bugs because I'm allergic to mosquitoes - which basically means I'm a magnet for them! A place I've always loved to go in the summer though is Prince Edward Island. I've been there over ten times since I was a toddler and PEI means summer to me. I went again last summer after a long absence and absolutely fell in love with everything about the hot summer months.

When I read Jenny Han's summer series, there was something so compelling about the setting of a beach house, close to the ocean, so close you could smell the salt in the air. So in honour of a few summer reads I've already run through this year (maybe I should have saved them for the warmer weather) but I've been on the hunt for some great seasonal books that will make me think of summer all the way through the next four months.

Here's my list of books that I think will fit the bill!

Love Story by Jennifer Echols
Forget You by Jennifer Echols

  2. PEI is gorgeous! I went there once when I was 12 and remember being awestruck. Nice recommendations! I've been wanting to read Anna and the French kiss for a while!
