Cover Reveal - Fever by Lauren DeStefano

Fever by Lauren DeStefano,
number two  in the Chemical Garden series.

I haven't read the first in the series, Wither but man was that cover something to ogle. I loved the dark tones of the book with the girl on the cover with her extreme hair and rippled dress. It made the scenery in the the book for me, I could imagine the world the author had created within the pages without even cracking the cover. I remember my friend and fellow book blogger Chelsey at Chellybooks was dying to get this book in her hands, mostly because she couldn't wait to see the thing up close and personal because she loved the artisitic look of the cover picture. This second book in the series, although pretty cool and similarily designed doesn't do it for me the same way the first cover did. It's still very pretty and interesting to look at, but the girl is either a different model all together or they've completely changed her look. This could be for a variety of reasons - maybe meant to symbalize a transition in her character? But I still love the eerie, dystopian feel the first book in the series carried. I will definitely have to pick this one up, though as soon as I get my hands on and read the first in the series.

Look for Fever February 21st, 2012.

  1. I am really disappointed by the cover of Fever! I hope that they tweak it a little bit before the book is published because although the lettering and overlay design matches well with the first book....the colours in this one totally feels off! Like Chelsey the cover of the first book was the main reason I bought a copy for myself in the first place haha :P
