Best Books of the Summer

As summer 2011 comes to an end and August turns to September I wanted to recap some of the books I read this summer that will go down as some of my favourite all time reads. These books are perfect for the lazy sunny afternoons spent sweating in the sun while you sip lemonade or ice tea, swinging lazily back and forth in your cozy hammock...painting a pretty picture aren't I?

Honestly, most of these books could be read anytime of year, but I'm definitely a mood book person - by which I mean that certain books have certain feels for me and I like to read them in the appropriate season, since here in Canada we experience all four!
Anyway, here I go: in no particular order, my favourite summer reads :)

Best Summer Series - About First Loves and Growing Up:
by Jenny Han

Best Book about Living Life to the Fullest - No Regrets:
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen

Best Overall Experience - Books that Make you Laugh, Cry, and Think about Life and all it's Precious Moments!

Best Books about Trouble Makers Who Get a Second Chance:
Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles
Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols

Best Foreign Adventure to Make You Smile:
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Best Book about Roadtripping!
Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

Best Book to Break Your Heart in the Most Hilarious Way:
One Day by David Nicholls

Best Creepy Thriller to Give You Chills While You've Got a Sunburn:
The Restorer by Amanda Stevens

So folks, it's been a great summer for reading, I spent most of the time I wasn't working parked in my yard reading with a cup of tea while my mom gardened. It was lazy and calm and very much the kind of summer I wanted before I leave to move overseas!
Hope you all had an equally enjoyable summer of reading, now onto books that will get me through the fall and into winter :)
