The day Louisiana teenager Rory Deveaux arrives in London marks a memorable occasion. For Rory, it's the start of a new life at a London boarding school. But for many, this will be remembered as the day a series of brutal murders broke out across the city, gruesome crimes mimicking the horrific Jack the Ripper events of more than a century ago.

Soon “Rippermania” takes hold of modern-day London, and the police are left with few leads and no witnesses. Except one. Rory spotted the man police believe to be the prime suspect. But she is the only one who saw him. Even her roommate, who was walking with her at the time, didn't notice the mysterious man. So why can only Rory see him? And more urgently, why has Rory become his next target? In this edge-of-your-seat thriller, full of suspense, humor, and romance, Rory will learn the truth about the secret ghost police of London and discover her own shocking abilities
Why am I waiting on this one? So it might seem creepy or morbit, but for some reason I've always had a weird interest and fascination with Jack the Ripper and the killings that took place in Whitechapel, London in 1888. Maybe it's the psychology of the killer or the fact that he was never caught but there is something that has always peeked my interest. So a book that redevelopes this story and weaves it into something new and fresh has got to be on my to-read list. I love London and the history it engenders so hopefully this new tale will be everything I'm looking forward to. Throw in a little romance and I'm there :)
What are you waiting on this week?

  2. I have always had a weird obsession with Jack the Ripper too! I've watched two documentaries on him and read a couple of books as well :P Jack the Ripper is probably the one reason I'll end up reading this book haha
