**If you haven't read book 1 in the sereis read the below description at your own discretion!**
Maya Delaney’s paw-print birthmark is the sign of what she truly is—a skin-walker. She can run faster, climb higher, and see better than nearly anyone else. Experiencing intense connections with the animals that roam the woods outside her home, Maya knows it’s only a matter of time before she’s able to Shift and become one of them. And she believes there may be others in her small town with surprising talents.
Now, Maya and her friends have been forced to flee from their homes during a forest fire they suspect was deliberately set. Then they’re kidnapped, and after a chilling helicopter crash, they find themselves in the Vancouver Island wilderness with nothing but their extraordinary abilities to help them get back home. Plentiful action and romance in this second installment in the Darkness Rising series will keep readers enthralled to the last page.
Why am I waiting on this one? Well, I haven't read book one yet, but I have read Armstrong's previous series set in this world, The Darkest Powers trilogy and I really loved it. Kelley Amrstrong's writing has really captured my interest - I also read and loved Bitten the first in her Women of the Underworld series. So I figure I really can't go wrong with one of her books. Part of the reason I haven't read book one yet is because having read Armstrong before, I know how she loves a cliffhanger, and knowing myself - I know how impatient I can be when I want to know something. I figure it's safer for all involved if I have book 2 at my disposal before starting the series.
PS: love love love the cover, so eerie and beautiful. Love the colours and the greyness of the models' eyes.
What are you waiting on this week?
